Without reliable transportation, hundreds of struggling families in our community are stranded at home and cannot maintain jobs, take their kids to daycare, go to the grocery store, or attend church. Activating lay mechanics in car care clinics enables churches to share the love of Jesus right in church parking lots.
Cornerstone Assistance Network started a partnership with Phoenix Assistance Corporation and Liberty Car Care to train and equip churches to start car care clinics to address this need.
In the past 12 months, Christians from area churches have repaired over 370 cars and provided some 30 cars to people trying to stabilize their lives.
Clinic SitesCar care clinics are operated by local churches. Cornerstone's car care partnership trains those churches to run consistent, quality clinics to help single moms and families struggling to make it each month. Cornerstone, through its Work Opportunity Center and partnership with Phoenix Assistance Corporation, operates a base site and acts as an overflow and backup site to the church clinics for larger jobs and on bad-weather days. When You Donate a CarYou will bless a family who is trying to get a job, or who is in full-time ministry. A portion of all vehicles donated to Cornerstone are given to families trying to obtain reliable transportation to maintain a job or to do ministry backed by area churches. You will help fund the car care ministry. Some of the vehicles donated to Cornerstone are sold to help fund car repairs for seniors and single moms who cannot afford repairs, or to pay for repairs to a donated car. You will receive a tax deduction. Donors receive an income tax deduction receipt for the full value of the vehicle. Some receive more value in tax deductions than from trade-in not to mention the value of giving. Call Cornerstone to Help a Family Today: 583-3670 |
